Linda Vanderford

Linda Vanderford-webMrs. Linda Vanderford has been involved in education for 36 years, serving as an elementary teacher, department chair, mentor, consultant, and adjunct professor. In her roles as professor at University of Portland, Concordia Portland, and Portland State University, Linda has both designed and taught more than 25 different graduate courses in literacy, assessment, differentiated instruction, unit design, and the arts. She served as a writing scoring director for Oregon’s state-wide writing assessment for 17 years and has also designed and facilitated numerous district and county-wide writing assessments. Linda provides consulting services and professional development to schools and districts throughout the nation. She is recognized for her ability to integrate best practices and research with practical application to impact teaching and learning in the classroom as well as her energetic, welcoming style. Her areas of expertise include differentiated instruction, data teams, literacy, and classroom assessment. Linda is also an Instruction and Leadership Coach with the International Center for Leadership in Education. A native Oregonian, Linda received her bachelor’s degree in education from Oregon State University and her master’s degree from Portland State University.
