Juan Cordova

Juan Cordova-webMr. Juan Cordova brings more 24 years of accomplishments as a teacher, administrator, and consultant to the table. Juan has led diverse teams to success in many settings, including extensive work in turnaround situations. Juan presently serves as the Assistant Superintendent in Grandview C4 School District, MO. In this role, he focuses on leading the work of refining curriculum, building a K-12 formative assessment structure, implementing a comprehensive PLC process, and supervising principals. For the last 15 years, Juan has provided professional development nationally and internationally. He has presented on topics including curriculum development, instruction, assessment, use of data and standards, as well as ELL and special education. Juan has published on the use of data to drive instruction as well as data use for ELL students. Juan served as the Director of Academic Programs for Houghton Mifflin Harcourt/Puerto Rico. He led all HMH academic support for 11 low-performing schools. Despite high poverty, crumbling infrastructure, and high teacher absenteeism, these schools increased steadily in academic performance. Juan also previously served as the Chief Learning Officer of Anson County Schools, NC and principal of three schools in Marion County, FL. As principal, his schools moved from risk of takeover to accreditation and from no recognition to Title I School of Distinction. Juan holds a specialist degree in educational leadership, a master’s in curriculum, and a bachelor’s in political science. Currently he is pursuing his doctorate in educational leadership with a focus on finance and its impact on ELL students.
