Alisha Loftin

Alisha Loftin-webBorn in Alamogordo, NM, Mrs. Alisha Loftin grew up in Santa Fe. Alisha attended New Mexico State University, graduating with honors in Spanish Literature and Latin American Studies.  She then attended graduate school at Texas Christian University specializing in 19th Century Mexico and received her Master’s Degree in 1997. She currently is pursuing a PhD in Spanish historic sociolinguistics at the University of Houston. Alisha has always expressed a love for Spanish and Hispanic cultures and their history, and she attributes that sentiment to having grown up in Santa Fe, a historic town. She has taught Spanish and history from elementary school through college level for the last 25 years and sees classroom education as her true calling in life.  In 2015, she opened her business Lunch and Learn Spanish, which concentrates on teaching conversational Spanish skills to adults. Additionally, Alisha teaches American History and World Civilizations at Houston Community College and the Art Institute of Houston.
